Lights Out 2 Trailer Deutsch

'Lights Out' Sequel Still in Development, Says Producer

Seven years after the release of the original horror film 'Lights Out', a sequel is still in the works, according to producer Lawrence Grey.

However, the project has faced numerous setbacks since its announcement in 2016.

In an interview with Collider, Grey revealed that the sequel is still in the early stages of development and that they are currently "working on the script". He also hinted that the film could potentially be released in 2023 or 2024.

The original 'Lights Out' film, which was directed by David F. Sandberg and starred Teresa Palmer and Alexander DiPersia, became a surprise hit in 2016, grossing over $148 million worldwide against a production budget of just $5 million. The film follows Sophie (Palmer), a young woman who is haunted by a supernatural entity that only appears in the dark.

A sequel to 'Lights Out' was first announced in 2016, with Sandberg and Palmer set to return. However, the project has been stalled several times since then due to various factors, including Sandberg's busy schedule and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the setbacks, Grey remains optimistic that the sequel will eventually be made. "We're still very excited about it," he said. "It's just a matter of getting the timing right."
