UAE Announces Eid Al Fitr 2024 Prayer Timings

Special Prayer to be Held Shortly After Sunrise in Each Emirate

Published: April 8, 2023

The UAE moon sighting committee has confirmed that the first day of Eid Al Fitr 2024 will be Wednesday, April 10. The special prayer, held shortly after sunrise in each emirate, marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The UAE Cabinet has also announced a week-long public sector holiday to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. This aligns with the earlier announcement from the UAE Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).

Eid Al Fitr, one of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar, is a time for celebration and reflection. Muslims around the world gather with family and friends to exchange gifts, share meals, and attend prayers.

In the UAE, Eid Al Fitr is a particularly festive occasion. The streets are decorated with lights and bunting, and the air is filled with the sound of music and laughter.

The UAE moon sighting committee, a group of astronomers and court officials, is responsible for determining the start of Eid Al Fitr. The committee meets each year to observe the new moon, which signals the end of Ramadan.

Eid Al Fitr holidays have been announced across the GCC, with government departments and authorities revealing dates and durations of extended breaks.
